Meet the in3D Squad

At in3D, we live and breathe CAD/CAM, imos iX, and the smell of digital sawdust. We’ve spent years helping the woodworking industry move from “back‑of‑an‑envelope” sketches to fully automated production. Get to know the team who turn your complex ideas into real‑world components (and only occasionally talk to their computers).

The Grand Architect (Managing Director)

Adam Bumpsteed

After implementing imos software across Australia and New Zealand, Adam knew the UK and Ireland would benefit from the same cutting‑edge technology. So, on returning to rainy old England, he became the authorised imos partner for the region back in 2008 — and he hasn’t looked back since, mostly because he’s too busy admiring nested sheets and parametric assemblies.

As the leader of the pack, Adam’s job is to make sure “in3D” isn’t just how we design—but how clearly our customers can see their future projects taking shape.

Outside the world of CAD/CAM, Adam is a passionate cook and, in another life, could have been a 3‑star Michelin chef… probably still would be, if kitchens didn’t need configuring in imos first.

    • Special Power: Can spot a 1mm tolerance error from a mile away.

    • Secret Passion: Perfecting his legendary Chicken Tikka in his very own tandoor.

The Implementation Wizard

Peter Cunningham

If Adam is the architect, Peter is the man with the magical wand — or at least a very powerful keyboard. He specialises in making sure the software actually talks to the machines, bridging the gap between “cool design” and “this part actually fits together.”

He’s been in the game long enough to remember when 3D meant wearing red‑and‑blue cardboard glasses, but he much prefers the imos variety.

Outside work, Peter is a devoted Liverpool FC fan (you’ll hear about it on Mondays) and has a soft spot for mid‑century furniture design — anything with clean lines and beautiful joinery gets his vote.

  • Special Power: Speaking fluent “CNC Code.”
  • Life Goal: To automate his morning coffee so it appears exactly 4.2 seconds after his alarm.
  • Favourite Tool: Article Designer — who wouldn’t love a tool that makes parametric cabinetry behave?

The Technical Virtuoso

Alex Shelley

Alex is our resident problem‑solver and technical mastermind. When a user asks, “Can the software do this highly‑unusual, gravity‑defying thing?” Alex is the one who finds three different ways to achieve it. He’s the bridge between the user’s imagination and the database’s reality.

If you have a question about variables, Alex is your man — just don’t ask how many hours he’s spent staring at logic trees. No one needs that kind of truth.

When he’s off the clock, Alex goes ultra low‑tech: put him in a pair of running shoes and he’ll happily disappear into endurance races for miles.

  • Special Power: Debugging complex workflows while explaining them in a way even the most caffeine‑deprived colleague can understand.
  • Known For: His “can‑do” attitude and his “where’s‑the‑coffee?” face.
  • Favourite Tool: Catalogue Configurator — maximum control, minimum stress.

The Support Hero & Training Specialist

Oliver O'Neill

Oliver is the friendly voice on the other end of the line when you’re wondering why your cabinet has five legs instead of four. He’s dedicated to guiding and training our clients, ensuring that even the most tech‑hesitant woodworker becomes an imos master.

He believes there’s no such thing as a stupid question — although he’s heard some impressively creative ones over the years.

Outside of work, you’ll find Oliver on his road bike, racking up miles faster than your CNC racks up tool changes.

  • Special Power: Infinite patience and the ability to explain “The Cloud” without using his hands.
  • Favourite Tool: His trusty headset — because solving problems always starts with listening.
